- CtK to Host Second Spring LEAF Session
- You have three more opportunities to experience one free day of Spring LEAFs (Ecumenical Life Enrichment Adult Forums) if you are coming for the first time--April 14 (at Christ the King), April 28 and May 12 (at Nativity Lutheran in St. Anthony.)
- Approximately 100 people enjoy these offerings every Spring and Fall.

- Anyone who has Monday mornings available and enjoys stimulating presentations on current events, spiritual enrichment and the arts is invited. Sessions are from 9 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. and include lunch. They are held every other Monday for four Mondays in the Spring and Fall.

- Monday, April 14 there’s a choice of one of three presentations for the first hour (A musical journey with Rev. Glenn Martin; A brief look at the parables of Jesus with Rev. Ryan Brodin; or Melodye Eisele’s presentation on the holistic and transformational power of music in our lives.) After coffee break, Charles Lutz will present “The Holy Land Conflict: Is There Any Hope?” He has been with us before and has powerful insights into the Middle East conflict.

- All women of Christ the King (& friends) are invited to the Annual Spring Salad Supper in the Fireside Room on Thursday, May 15 at 6:00 PM. Anna and Deborah Circles are hosting this event.

- Following the supper we’ll hear a delightful presentation by Bonnie Ellis “Apron, God in my Pocket.” You’re encouraged to wear your favorite apron that evening. After Bonnie’s presentation we’ll gather in the sanctuary to hear our own Brian Wallin, soloist, and the Celebrate Choir directed by our Minister of Music, Bruce Phelps. A suggested $5 free-will offering will be taken for the benefit of the music ministry at Christ the King.

- The CtK Young Couples Group will kick off this spring with a dinner out at Benihana on Sunday, April 27th at 6:00pm. "Benihana restaurants are traditional Japanese-style hibachi steakhouses - called "teppanyaki." At Benihana, your meal is prepared and served by a performing chef, right at your table. - Today -- The Life and Ministry of the Apostle Peter - An ELCA Mosaic DVD that explores the life and the ministry of “Peter,” the disciple Christ called “The Rock” upon which his church would be built. Explores the differing roles the Roman Catholic and Lutheran Churches apply to Peter’s influence in the early church.
- April 20 -- Lithuanian Christian Artist, Zilvanas Jakstas Pastor Jakstas was born in Lithuania during Soviet times, became a Franciscan monk and began his art in iconography during his mission to Siberia. Has created icons in many parts of the world. Come and hear his fascinating life story and enjoy his amazing art!
- No Women’s Morning Bible Study on Wednesday April 15th
- Women’s Bible Studies
- Stepping Up: A Journey through the Psalms of Ascent by Beth Moore, will be a 7-week study, focused on Psalms 120-134. A workbook for this study will cost $20 and the DVD will be viewed weekly along with the discussion. This study will begin on April 7th, 12:30-2:30 in the Library. Please let Audrey Shoopman or Melodee Rossi, rossipd@msn.com, know of your interest so a book can be ordered.
- Holding Out for a Hero, by Lisa Harper, will be a 6-week study, focused on the book of Hebrews. An interactive DVD is included with this book and the cost is $15. The DVD can be used at home and will be used during the weekly discussions. This will begin on April 14th, 12:30-2:30, in the Fireside Lounge. - As we anticipate Earth Day on April 22, our Council-appointed Windows For Understanding Team presents four sessions on the faith basis for our care of the earth and the practical things we can do to save and nourish the earth.
- April 23: Pledge to use less energy and make a real difference. Neely Crane-Smith from Center for Energy and Environment in MN will speak about the importance of energy in our world and just how much we can save if we “Pledge to use less energy”.
- April 30: Global Warming and Caring for Creation Ingrid Vick from the Lutheran Coalition for Public Policy in MN will talk about faith based advocacy relating to a global warming solutions bill under consideration in the MN Legislature.

- David Walsh Seminar: “NO. Why kids Need to Hear it and Ways Parents Can Say It” was postponed until Monday, April 21st at 7:p.m. at St. Anthony Middle/High School Auditorium. Dr. David Walsh, psychologist, educator, family therapist, author, speaker, husband and father of three will provide you with an arsenal of tactics, explanations and examples for using “NO” the right way with your kids. He gives down-to-earth advice that you can immediately use to improve your relationship with your kids.
