From Your Minister of Music:
It seems like just a few weeks ago that I came on board as your Minister of Music. I remember planning for Thanksgiving Eve, Christmas Concert, and organizing all the music for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day services. At the same time, Candi and I sold our house in Dilworth, MN and on December 14th, moved into our new town home in Shoreview. After a brief respite, we rushed into lent followed by a busy Holy Week and a glorious Easter Sunday. Since November 1st, we have hosted the World Voices, the Waldorf Wind Symphony and the Augustana Alumni Brass Ensemble. The Sanctuary Choir performed John Rutter’s “Requiem” on Maundy Thursday and a new men’s group called Christ’s Kingsmen was formed. The Celebrate Team continues to lead worship at our 11:00 services and the Harmony Choir is truly a delight with which to work. Believe me, I am not sitting around wondering what to do next. But we love it here and feel so blessed to be a part of the Christ the King Family.
Here are some musical events on the horizon:
Sunday, May 18: Our children’s choir, youth hand bell choirs, and Harmony Choir will be leading the worship at our 9:30 service. This will be their last event of the school year.
Sunday June 1: The King’s Ringers, Sanctuary Choir, Christ’s Kingsmen and the Celebrate Team will be leading the worship at both morning services.
Sunday June 22:
Sunday, July 20:
Sunday, August 10:
Summer Choir: Anyone interested in singing in a choir is welcome to join us as we provide music for the morning worship services. We will meet at 8:30 in the choir room, rehearse the music, and then sing at the morning services. You don’t have to be a member of the Sanctuary Choir to join us. All are welcome.
See you all in church.
